Habakkuk 2:1-4 KJV — “I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved. [2] And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.”
[3] “For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. [4] Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.“
Nothing would change around here until someone or something initiates the change. Change is always effected by a change agent and the most effective change agents are self starters. Somebody must be angry enough to;
- Challenge the status quo
- Stand upon your watch and pray intensely
- Wait with an obsession to see
- Write and publish the vision in simple clear language
- Live by faith
Challenge the status quo
There are times when no change takes place until someone challenges the situation and events that surround him. Until we awake to the fact that things cannot continue this way, we will sit around filth and feel content. We must awaken by light to understand that things can get better, bigger, and greater than this. We must challenge our own mediocrity and begin to pursue excellence.
We must break the 12, 72, 120, and 500 barriers of growth. We must begin to pursue growth and increase and abundance. Let us challenge ourselves and push a little further.
Just start by praying
Pray with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit and watching there unto with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.
Ephesians 6:18-19 KJV — “praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; [19] and for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,“
Trusting in the Lord and acknowledging Him in all your ways through prayer brings spiritual direction.
Proverbs 3:5-6 KJV — “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; And lean not unto thine own understanding. [6] In all thy ways acknowledge him, And he shall direct thy paths.“
Wait in prayer with an obsession to see
It’s not enough to pray; you must pray with the desire to see what the Lord will show you. One of the key things the Lord will do for you in prayer is to give you wisdom and a strategy. He will show you what to do and how to do it. Habakkuk waited to see what he will answer.
Share your vision with the stakeholders
The fourth step to initiating change is to share the vision with stakeholders. The Lord instructed the prophet to write and publish the vision to the stakeholders. When God shows you a vision concerning a city, you must write and publish it. If the vision is about the family, you must write and publish it in a place where the family can read and run with it.
Start and continue by faith
Start from where you are and with what you have. It takes faith to start but commitment and perseverance to finish. We must start by faith but be committed to finish.
I see change coming. May the Lord overturn the curses and hexes! May the Lord bring great change!
Stay blessed!
