I want to share 7 tips on how to live in a culture of spiritual growth!
It’s important, however, to understand that everything grows through seeding and watering. Paul planted, Apollos watered, and God gave the increase (See 1 Corinthians 3:6).
Every spiritual growth occurs through a partnership between God and humans. We have a part to play, and God has a part to play. What is our part that will move God to do His part?
- Receive the word with gladness: Every growing church has the attitude of receiving the word with gladness. Anything that stops us from receiving the word of God with gladness prevents our growth. Remember that the church will grow when we grow; and proper growth is guided.
- Receive the anointing of the Holy Spirit: What we are involved in is more spiritual than physical. The Holy Spirit plays a very important role in our growth that you can’t imagine. We wrestle not against flesh and blood, hence the need to be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.
- Continue steadfastly in both the fellowship and doctrine of the apostles: There are many voices in the world, all trying to influence you. Until you resolve to continue in the apostles’ doctrine, you may derail.
- Continue steadfastly in prayer: Commit your ways to the Lord, committing Him to direct your path in His will and establish your going! It also positions and prepares your heart and mind to receive from God. Praying makes you conscious of the role of the Lord in your total well-being.
- Give and serve faithfully in the church: The covert demand here is to learn to do your business. You must learn to work and give, and after giving, be present to serve in the church and in missions.
- Dwell peacefully with those who call upon God out of a pure heart: Mark those who cause division among us and avoid them. Endeavor to keep the bond of the Spirit in peace (See Romans 16:17-19; Ephesians 4:1-6).
- Be a missionary where you live, work, and play if you can.
Stay blessed!
