I want to exhort you tonight on the need to live your life now! Life has no trials or interludes; your life on earth began on the day you were born and the clock began to tick. The truth is we are born once, and it is a common fact that we will all die one day and face judgement.
None of us has more than one life to live, but the mystery is that no one knows when the train sent to pick us away will arrive. It will, therefore, be silly to postpone your life, hoping to live after COVID-19 or after a year. We must arise and live. We must live life to the max the best way we know how to.
So the following is an outline of a few simple secrets that will help you to live life to the max and to live it rightly;
1. Remember your Creator in your youth:
This is the first wisdom to living. Once you settle this truth in your heart, that you were created for a purpose and begin to discover this purpose from your Creator, you are good to go. Also, you’ll do well if you remember early in your life that there is an evil day. May you not wait till the evil day before you remember your Creator.
[Ecclesiastes 12:1 KJV] “Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;
Those who find the Scripture from thy childhood live more fruitful lives. The Apostle Paul told of how Timothy has from his childhood known the scriptures which is able to make him wise unto salvation that comes through Jesus Christ.
[2 Timothy 3:12-17 KJV] “Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. [13] But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.”
[14] “But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; [15] And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.”
[16] “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: [17] That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.”
3. Rest well:
Resting or relaxing in life is important to stay healthy and productive. Anxiety does not improve anything, it rather saps your energy. You must strive to enter the rest of the Lord, find sleep, and take a break from time to time. If you dishonour the Sabbath or refuse to take a break, you may die early. Rest! Take a break; even Jesus Christ took a break from the hustle to relax.
[Psalms 127:2 KJV] “It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.”
True rest is found in none other but Christ Jesus. God doesn’t just give sleep but he also gives rest.
[Matthew 11:28-30 KJV] “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
Again, even Jesus found time to refresh and rejuvenate. You will wrinkle and age quickly if you don’t learn to relax.
[Mark 6:31 KJV] “And he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.”
4. Eat healthily:
The third secret to living is eating healthy. The fork and knife have sent more people to an early grave than the gun. It is always important to understand that “man shall not live by bread alone; but by every word that comes out of the mouth of God”. You will live longer and healthier when you learn to live by the good word and by good bread. The word of God is “health to the bone and marrow of those who find it”.
[Matthew 4:4 KJV] “But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
5. Exercise regularly:
Keeping fit and staying active is important to stay in shape. That is not to suggest that you hit the gym or anything. I don’t believe so much in gyms, rather, just stay active, mow your lawns, run errands by walking, clean around your house, and other such activities are enough to keep you fit. Beloved, just make sure you are in good shape, instead of sitting around and admiring others.
Work hard, play hard. Please, we were created for work but don’t work and work and work, until working steals your life. Keep a good balance between what you do for a living and what you do to keeps living. Maintain a good balance between work and recreation. Work hard, play hard!
I love you!
