[et_pb_column type=”4_4″][et_pb_text admin_label=”Text”]Today I want you to know that God will keep holding on. He will be waiting and watching to see whether you will come back to your senses and return to your first faith, first love and first home.
(Luke 15:11-24 KJV) “And he said, A certain man had two sons: And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living. And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.
And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want. And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine. And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.
And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father’s have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee, And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants. And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him. And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son. But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet: And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry: For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.”
The Bible tells us that a man had two sons; then one day the younger and inexperienced son came to the father to ask for his portion of the inheritance. He took whatever belonged to him and traveled to a far country.
He wanted a new life, he wanted his independence, he wanted liberty from his fatherly control. Like him, many of us get worked up with the routines of church and ministry, and we seek to be free and independent. We seek a new life away from our familiar places; indeed life out there can be exciting and fast paced but harsh.
So, the younger son took his journey far away from his father’s influence and control and spent his substance on riotous living. Many great destinies have crashed because of independence and the quest for liberties and freedom. He spent his substance on food and sex. Indulgence is a great killer. Lack of parental guidance is a great thief of destiny. He wasted all he had on harlots and indulgence, till he desired to have the food of pigs. Some of us have not left God physically but we have forsaken God in our heart.
God is waiting as the father waited daily for the possible return of his younger and inexperienced son. I know without doubt that God is holding on and hanging in. He is looking forward to see you return home. Some of us have not physically left but emotionally we are detached. This is the time to return to God and to church spirit, soul, and body. This is the time, now is the hour; don’t wait till your life is wasted.
Remember from where you have fallen, and begin to do the first works again (Revelation 2:4-5). Many of us have backslidden; we have lost our first love. We are not doing the first works; we think we have grown wiser, when in fact we have just grown carnal and worldly.
I pray for you that you will come back to yourself. The father is waiting. He is holding on. God’s is bleeding. He wants you back home, but He won’t force you. He will never force his will on you, but He has been waiting and watching daily for your return. Come back; return to your first love. Return! Come back.
Let us be careful when we feel fascinated by the music and drama on the other side of life. Life on the other side of town may look like fun and exciting but there is always an unquoted price you pay. The world does not give freebies. Whatever the world offers is more expensive than the quoted price. The only place where good things are truly for free is in the kingdom. And even that, it is truly free only because the Lord Jesus Christ paid for it in full.
The cost of sin and indulgence is too expensive. Dear friend think! Sin will cost you your very life and glory; especially sexual sins. May the Lord help us to return and come home quickly!
God is waiting, and waiting earnestly. God will keep waiting and watching because His love is tough. He loves you so much and He will always be there to see whether you will return or not. Daddy will never give up on you. Yes, you messed up a fortune, but you are worth more than that fortune. Daddy has been waiting, don’t continue to break His heart. He is still holding on, He sent me to remind you that He’s not just expecting you back home, but He wants you to connect emotionally too. He wants you to love Him.
Stay blessed; I love you[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column]
