Loving your own children is all about being motherly: to be a mother to your children to raise them in a way that they can stand the mountains and valleys, and twists and turns of life.
“That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,” (Titus 2:4)
Some women are not mothers, they are only channels and canals of entry into the world. They are just the gateway to earth.
A mother;
- Keeps records of the growth and details of their children’s life. Mary hid the things that were said about Jesus in her heart.
- Takes a genuine interest in her children: be involved in their life but don’t live their life for them.
- Spends quality time with them: give them attention. Chat with them. Switch off the television and start the mother-vision.
- Provides and cares for them: wash their clothes, feed them on a balanced but cost-effective diet. Don’t raise them on money and sweets.
Your children are gifts you have received from the Lord. They are given to empower you against the enemy. Treasure and love them.
