Exodus 15:2 KJV — “The LORD is my strength and song, And he is become my salvation: He is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; My father’s God, and I will exalt him.“
The song of Moses in Exodus 15 was not merely a melody but a testimony of victory. Israel had just seen the mighty hand of God deliver them from Pharaoh’s army and open the Red Sea before their eyes.
Their first response was worship, “The Lord is my strength and song, and He has become my salvation.” When you make God your strength, you will never lack the courage to face life’s battles, and when He becomes your song, you will never run out of reasons to rejoice even in hard places. Strength and song are not found in circumstances, but in the Lord Himself.
Notice how strength and song naturally flow into salvation. God does not just give His people energy to endure or joy to sing, He becomes their deliverance. Salvation is the culmination of trusting God as strength and celebrating Him as song. Just as Israel saw Pharaoh’s chariots drowned in the sea, every force that rises against you loses its power when you allow God to fight your battles. He is not a passive spectator; He is “a man of war.” The same God who delivered Israel is still able to silence your enemies today.
Therefore, let your life be filled with the confession, “The Lord is my strength and my song.” In every trial, lean on Him for strength. In every season, lift Him up with your song of praise. And as you do, you will experience Him as your salvation, the One who rescues, preserves, and establishes you.
Today, do not focus on the size of your Red Sea or the chariots pursuing you. Fix your eyes on the God who fights for you, and let your heart sing with confidence: The Lord is my strength, my song, and my salvation.
Amen
