Psalm 17:5 (KJV) – “Hold up my goings in thy paths, that my footsteps slip not.”
David prayed a powerful prayer for divine stability. He understood that life is full of slippery paths, temptations, pride, anger, lust, bitterness, and the pressures of the world that try to pull us away from God’s will.
A person who walks according to ego and flesh will eventually stumble. But the one who walks in the paths of the Lord finds guidance, strength, and stability. When God orders your steps, He places your feet on firm ground where you will not fall.
Action Steps
Today, choose the path of the Lord over the path of self. Reject pride, lust, anger, and bitterness, and surrender your decisions to God’s Word and Spirit.
Pray daily for God to guide your steps and keep your heart aligned with His ways.
As you walk humbly in His paths, may the Lord hold up your goings, establish your steps, and may your foot never slip.
