[1 Kings 19:14-20 KJV] “And he said, I have been very jealous for the Lord God of hosts: because the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away. [15] And the Lord said unto him, Go, return on thy way to the wilderness of Damascus: and when thou comest, anoint Hazael to be king over Syria: [16] And Jehu the son of Nimshi shalt thou anoint to be king over Israel: and Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abel-meholah shalt thou anoint to be prophet in thy room. [17] And it shall come to pass, that him that escapeth the sword of Hazael shall Jehu slay: and him that escapeth from the sword of Jehu shall Elisha slay. [18] Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him. [19] So he departed thence, and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before him, and he with the twelfth: and Elijah passed by him, and cast his mantle upon him. [20] And he left the oxen, and ran after Elijah, and said, Let me, I pray thee, kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow thee. And he said unto him, Go back again: for what have I done to thee?”
I wish God has a smart phone and was on WhatsApp. Do you know why? It is because God can see, hear and read. So, God can see and read the notes that the enemy sends to me on WhatsApp. Praise the Lord!
There is not cause for alarm, and you should not be alarmed. Our God has ears and eyes. He sees, He hears, and can read. I don’t know what paper you are carrying in your hand, I don’t know what report the doctor handed you; I don’t know what surmons you have have recieved. I have no idea what contract you’re seeking. But all I know is that we serve an able and intelligent God. He is the God of the heavens and of the earth. There is none like unto him.
Other gods may fail their worshippers, but our God cannot fail. He has never failed and will never fail. In the book of Deuteromomy we understand that one cannot chase a thousand and two cannot put ten thousand to flight, except their rock gives them up. But our Rock is not like their rock. Our Rock is not just able and faithful; but also He is also merciful.
[Deuteronomy 32:30-31 KJV] “How should one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, except their Rock had sold them, and the Lord had shut them up? [31] For their rock is not as our Rock, even our enemies themselves being judges”.
The Bible says that after Hezekiah spread it before the Lord, the Lord heard him and answered him. God will answer you too before this season is over. The Lord will show up to defend you. You will not fail. The Lord shall be your defense. You will see His goodness.
Can you trust God?;
Do you know Him? Hezekiah had victory over the enemy, that terrible enemy who had killed many, all because Hezekiah knew his God. Daniel 11:32, says, ” … those who do know their God shall wax strong and do exploits”. Hezekiah knew his God; he was not moved by what he heard because he knew that his Rock was not like their rock. They had stones and wood as their gods, but our God is the Maker of heaven and earth.
Do you go up to the house of the Lord in times of crisis?;
The first thing Hezekiah did when he received the letter was to go to the house of the Lord to “spead it before the Lord”. Continual and consistent fellowship is one of the major keys to know the power of God. Can you also “spread it before the Lord” shamelessly in His house?
Can you pray before the Lord?;
Those who see the hand of our God are those who pray before Him without ceasing. Unceasing prayer is a key to answered prayer. Hezekiah prayed before the Lord and he recieve answers.
Can you wait until the prophetic word comes?;
Many of us do not see the hand of the Lord because of our pride. We are in a rush to go out and show that we are mighty, but Hezekiah waited until Isaiah the son of Amoz brought him a word.
You will not fail, neither will God forsake you. Be blessed.
I love you!
