Today, we shall take our inspiration from the story and life of Jephthah. He is a stone that the builders rejected that became the most needed piece of rock.

Jesus said to them, “Did you never read in the Scriptures, `THE STONE WHICH THE BUILDERS REJECTED, THIS BECAME THE CHIEF CORNER stone; THIS CAME ABOUT FROM THE LORD, AND IT IS MARVELOUS IN OUR EYES’?” (Matthew 21:42 NASB)

The story of Jephthah as many other biographies I have read starts from the conclusion. Many of us are intrigued by the beauty of the ending and not by the beginning of what happened before the glorious endings. This is why many people choose mentors based on what the mentors have become, and not how they became what they are.

Church-in-Accra

Jephthah, the character we all celebrate today suffered the cold rejection and betrayal of his own brothers. They sacked him out of his father’s house, his only crime being that his mother was a prostitute. His family rejected him but after many years they went back to look for him and to ask for his help.

Many of us reading this exhortation have suffered a very similar rejection. You may even have been ostracized, but I came to announce to you that you are not finished yet, Amen! God is not through with you. God has you where it is most opportune to bless you. Your destiny would never be crushed. It is not time to sit in ash at all.

Arise and develop your gift. Make the right company. Keep running; keep living your life to the max. Because the God of Jephthah will show up soon. Change is coming. Press on! You may have been rejected but I see the world looking for you. You will become a celebrated bag of solutions.

You are the stone rejected today but you are becoming the headstone tomorrow. You will not be crushed!

Prayer

Father, I thank you for your Grace. I thank you for the purpose of my life.

Dear Lord as I follow my calling, as I press towards the mark, give me the strength to face each day. Enable me to continue through thick and thin. You are my strength and light. Help me! In Jesus’s name. Amen!

Thoughts

Tell yourself that those who rejected you shall come searching for you. God has given you a gift, that gift will be the reason for your celebration. Your light will rise from obscurity.

  3. Prophetic message at the right time. God speaks in many ways but the children of God always fail to hear. It’s time for us to understand and acknowledge the voice of God to us especially this morning. I am touched. Indeed, they will come looking for me. God bless you Pastor and may God continue to give you prophetic messages like this for us daily. “Adom no nooso”
