My message today is on how to put away childish things ad you mature in life.
[1 Corinthians 13:11 KJV] “When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.“
One thing is true; we are all born as children with foolishness in our hearts. All men are foolish by default. We are all conceived in sin and shaped in iniquity; there is, therefore, the need to purposefully decide to put away childish things and to act maturely as you become a man.
If you don’t decide to think| understand | speak like a man you will as a child even when you have become a man. Being a man is not automatic. The fact that you grew a year older; does not mean you became a year wiser. You must deliberately decide to put away childish things and act as the man or woman you have become.
One of the lessons I have learnt as a growing man is the fact that thinking as a child is natural but to think as a man is a decision. Nobody thinks as a man by default; it is a decision.
You can only think as a man when you decide to put away childish things. Apostle Paul said when he was a child, he “thought as a child, spoke and understood as a child”; but upon growing and becoming a man; he put away childish things and began to both think, understand and speak as a man.
You will do well when you strive to continue with maturity. This is the lesson for life. Life is dynamic and we will do well when we constantly improve.
