I want to exhort you on the need and wisdom to rebuild the brokenness around you. There are times when the extent and depth of damage and brokenness around you is so discouraging that you wonder whether you can even fix it.
Text
[Nehemiah 4:10-11 KJV] “And Judah said, The strength of the bearers of burdens is decayed, and there is much rubbish; so that we are not able to build the wall. [11] And our adversaries said, They shall not know, neither see, till we come in the midst among them, and slay them, and cause the work to cease”.

Discussion
There are times when the extent of work to be done is discouraging and the voice of the adversary is also resounding in your ears. In our text, we see how the adversary sent a message to the people.
Sometimes if you truly want to repair the brokenness, you must cut off people who bring you a report from the enemy. The men of Judah were discouraged because they were listening to the voice of the enemy rather than listening to God. You see, the problem with listening to the enemy is that his voice and words will discourage you. The enemy speaks to incite fear and low self esteem. Sanbalat and Tobiah spoke and mocked. I don’t know what you may be going through but don’t pay attention to the devil.
It does not matter how much damage you see around you; you must encourage yourself in the Lord. You must speak faith to your own spirit. You must begin to fill your heart and mind with the word of God. Tell yourself that with God all things are possible. Don’t be discouraged by a medical report, or some situational report. Put yourself together and be determined to rise again from the shambles and heap of rubbish.
Trust God to see you through. God is faithful and He will keep His word to the generations to come. The same God that raised Lazarus from the grave after four days can fix your case. You are coming out if only you can believe. Faith in God never disappoints. I know that my God is able and He will see you through the rebuilding of the brokenness you see. Whether in marriage, with children, in health, in career, in business, etc.; I pray that the Lord will sustain you as you trust him to fix it.
Arise and do what you can about the situation. Nehemiah did not just sit aloof. He organized his resources and began to work. He organized the people and all the spears and spades. They kept their watch and went back to work. The people had the mind to work and the work progressed smoothly. You will arise and God will help you fix it. You will not die on a heap of rubbish from your broken past, broken relationships, broken health, or broken business. God will stretch forth His hand and heal every thing you are trying to repair and rebuild. Just arise and do something about it.
This is the time. This is the season. We cannot slack. Arise and do something about the broken pieces. Present it to God; let go and trust God to fix the brokenness. Encourage yourself with words that reinforce you. Stop grape-vining and feeding on the junk communication from the enemy. Speak to the right people. Hear the right voice and arise to do something about it.
If you really want to fix the mess around you;
- Don’t listen to the adversary’s voice; don’t grapevine or feed on the enemy’s junk communications
- Encourage yourself in the Lord, tell yourself that with God all things are possible
- Trust God to fix your mess as He did for Lazarus, Samson, and the prodigal son
- Arise and do something; organize your resources and get to work while watching
Be blessed; I love you!
Amen.
