I want to exhort you today about the requirements for the next level that you seek.
[Genesis 12:1-5 KJV] “Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father‘s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: [2] And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: [3] And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.”
[4] “So Abram departed, as the Lord had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran. [5] And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother’s son, and all their substance that they had gathered, and the souls that they had gotten in Haran; and they went forth to go into the land of Canaan; and into the land of Canaan they came.”
The next level does not just happen. It happens when certain necessary protocols are observed.
What is the next level? The next level is to move closer to the promise, and this has three dimensions:
- Numerical
- Capacity
- Influence
The Lord promised this to Abraham, the father of faith. He promised to make him a great nation, to bless him, and make him a blessing until his name becomes great. This promised is what we mean by the next level. It is to rise with greater numbers, capacity, and influence.
Now, the requirements for the next levels are simple: Separation, following hard, fervency in business, and faithfulness.
1. Not everybody belongs to your future:
There are some people in your life now who don’t fix where you are going. Until you are able to allow yourself to come out, you may not step into your next level. Remember that God wanted Abraham to come of out of his fathers country, kindred, and household, and he needed to do this before God would step in to show him the promise.
Sometimes, you cannot stay where you are and still make it into the promise. You must be willing to come out and let go of certain things if you can step into some other new things. And you notice that the promise delayed until the day Abraham separated from Lot. You must be ready to be set apart.
2. Following hard after God, and those who have inherited the promise through faith and patience:
Hebrews 6:12 states this so clearly. The Apostle teaches that it takes hard work and fervency in business to follow but we must be up and following. We must follow to where the Lord is leading and through the paths He chooses to take us. Even though it may literally be through the valleys of the shadows of death, we must not fear because He is with us. His rod and staff shall comfort us.
3. Fervency in business:
The lazy and slothful cannot move to the next level. It will take hard work and fervency to ever see the next level. We must be ready to put in energy and passion and drive to push against the odds in order to arrive at the next level.
4. Faithfulness
Faithful is the product of faith and patience. No man or woman can be faithful if they are not persuaded and patient enough. Anyone who doubts you will not be faithful to you or to God and any person who has a hasty spirit is dangerous.
