To make impact is to shine to give light to people who are close to you by unavoidable proximity.
[Matthew 5:14-17 KJV] “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Letyour light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil”.
Shining is having good works that is profitable to the people of your household.
The simple rules to impact are
- Relate with people who inspire or ignite your spirit and vision.
- Connect with a church.
- Find your strategic place in life
- Stir up your spirit daily to keep the fire burning
- Do whatever you do right and give it your all
- Sharpen others to keep the fire burning.
The Bible tells us that “the spirit of a man is the candle of the Lord”. Indeed, the torch of revival is passed from person to person. The simple secret, therefore, is to understand that “iron sharpens iron, so the countenance of man sharpens that of his neighbour”. You have better perspectives when you relate with people that ignite and enlighten your spirit.
The church is the node at which we connect and feed from Christ. The Lord feeds His people in troughs and in folds. He has appointed elders over us to feed us. Every believer who can make impact must belong to and connect with a candlestick which is the church. Those who recieved the word on the day of Pentecost, were added to the church. The Bible tells us how all those who were saved were always added to the church.
We all understand that the church gathers to be taught and imparted with power; but they went back to the households and community to serve. We are the church and must be the church whereever we go. We can make impact on our communities if we learn how to find our strategic place to serve. If you stand as a teacher in a classroom, be the church; if you stand in court as the lawyer, be the church; if you sit in the seat of judgment as the judge, be the church; if carry the gun to enforce peace, be the church; we are the church and we must find our strategic places to serve.
Square pegs in round holes will not make a maximum impact; each of us must discover where we belong, and stand in that office or capacity.
We know that a candle cannot illuminate a place, except it burns with fire. You must be aglow and stirred up to continue to lead the way. You must be willing to burn and shine and give light and heat to make impact. This is the time to keep shinning, be aglow, and stay ablaze.
We can make impact, maximum impact when we all get committed to shine and give light. We must be willing and ready to do whatever we do in a right way and give it our all. “The hand of the diligent bears rule and tends to plenty”. Each of us can make maximum impact in life when we choose to do right and give it our all. When we give ourselves wholly, we will get greater results.
Finally, it is important to understand that God works in generations, hence the need to pass the fire round. We must disciple and mentor others to keep the fire burning. A candle loses nothing when it ignites others. Reach out, share your testimony, your faith, the gospel, and your story to inspire and ignite others.
I pray that you will make impact and sharpen others. You were created, called, and blessed for impact.
Be blessed, I love you!
