I want to exhort you this moment on the secrets to promotion. I believe that we all want to see promotions in life.
[Psalms 75:1-10 KJV]“Unto thee, O God, do we give thanks, unto thee do we give thanks: for that thy name is near thy wondrous works declare. When I shall receive the congregation I will judge uprightly. The earth and all the inhabitants thereof are dissolved: I bear up the pillars of it. Selah.”
“I said unto the fools, Deal not foolishly: and to the wicked, Lift not up the horn: Lift not up your horn on high: speak not with a stiff neck. For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.”
“For in the hand of the Lord there is a cup, and the wine is red; it is full of mixture; and he poureth out of the same: but the dregs thereof, all the wicked of the earth shall wring them out, and drink them. But I will declare for ever; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob. All the horns of the wicked also will I cut off; but the horns of the righteous shall be exalted.”
Introduction
We desire to move from one stage to another; one level to another. We all want to see not just progress but promotions. Because of this, some people try to scheme their way to places of influence. Some people will do anything at all to rise to the top. The Psalmist is, however, teaching us not to deal foolishly, nor lift our horn.
This is because “promotions do not come from the east, the west nor the south; promotions come from above. Promotion comes from God; your scheming and backbiting and pride will amount to nothing.
“It is not of him that runs nor of him that wills or craves for; it is the Lord that shows mercy” and gives grace.
If there is anyone we should try to impress for promotions, it is God. He has the keys of David, when He opened a door, no man can shut; and vice versa.
God! He can put one down and set up the other. He is the one that promotes, He alone matters.
The Bible teaches us that God has a cup of indignation in His hands to pour out for the wicked to drink. God is ready to both reward and reprimand. Promotion comes from above, but it does not come to profane people. Esau was rejected because he is profane. You must prepare yourself for promotions. Promotions do not come in a vacuum, you must prepare yourself for promotions.
Secrets to Promotion
Acts 6 teaches us a few things we can do to get ready for the day of our promotion. You must be ready to function when you are counted for promotions. Those shortlisted for promotions must be ready to pass the vetting.
Here are five key things that get you ready for promotion:
1. Honesty:
What you say must be something that we can count on. You must prepare yourself to give an honest report. You must be accountable and not shady. Many people have failed upon their appointment because they are shady. Many of us have found crafty ways to cheat and be shady. God is looking for men who can be trusted with valuable goods and treasures.
2. Wisdom:
God will never promote a fool. You must prepare yourself with wisdom. God gives wisdom to those who ask. Ask daily and grow wiser.
3. Infilling of the Holy Spirit:
This is the thing that prepares you for promotion. The presence of the Holy Ghost in your life. The anointing will set you apart for promotions.
4. Faithfulness, loyalty, and consistency:
The Bible teaches us that it is required of a steward to be faithful. You must be faithful, loyal, and consistent.
5. Humility:
Many people have been at the same place for years because of pride. Pride comes before a fall. You must be humble and God will lift you.
[Acts 6:3 KJV]“Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.”
You will rise and see promotions.
Stay blessed
