1 Samuel 2:29-30 KJV — Wherefore kick ye at my sacrifice and at mine offering, which I have commanded in my habitation; and honourest thy sons above me, to make yourselves fat with the chiefest of all the offerings of Israel my people? [30] Wherefore the LORD God of Israel saith, I said indeed that thy house, and the house of thy father, should walk before me for ever: but now the LORD saith, Be it far from me; for them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed.
As we celebrate the Lord today, I am exhorting you to take the Lord seriously! It is time to stop bargaining with the devil and start taking God seriously! God has called us as his sons to go and serve him; stop bargaining with the devil and go all out for God!
In Exodus 15:26, the Lord assures that if we shall listen diligently to his voice and obey, He will take away from us all the sicknesses He put on Egypt and heal all our diseases. This is the time and the seasons of our lives when we have to make the personal quality decision to take God seriously! We can not continue to play church anymore! Let us take God seriously!
Acts 2:42 teaches us that a generation that takes God seriously, actually continues steadfastly in
- Prayer: they continue in kingdom impact prayers. They pray without ceasing and continue to their last breath. They pray for all men, for kings and for people in authority!
- Fellowship: they don’t forsake the assembling together of themselves. [Hebrews 10:25] Infact they don’t even wait to be called; they get ready and go to the house of the Lord to worship!
- Communion: the generation that takes God seriously, honours the Holy Communion [John 6: 56ff]. As we celebrate the Lord today, may eternal life enter into you! May the Lord heal you completely! In the name of Jesus Christ!
- The word steadfastly: the generation that takes God seriously obey the Lord! Learn to take the Word seriously and to obey.
- Giving: they give to missions and charity. This generation give as a sacrifice not as an obligation! They are kingdom financiers! They give by faith and sometimes beyond their means!
- Serving the Lord with gladness and a heart of gratitude: No one ever goes down with a genuine heart of gratitude. We are rising to praise our way out of stagnation and sickness. This is the time of life to maintain a heart of thanksgiving!
Stay blessed and take God seriously!
