John 4:21-24 KJV – Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. [22] Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.
[23] But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. [24] God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
We are starting this God-series because many people are worshipping the God they don’t know. In John 4:21-24, our Lord Jesus told the woman of Samaria that her main problem was that she was worshipping a God she didn’t know. Our brethren must be taught to know God if we are going to do well in the faith. May the Lord graciously give us a revelation of himself through the pages of the scriptures.
Our purpose is to reveal the God of Adam, to tell the story of Adam from a different perspective and to understand how we can have hope in the God of Adam (See Romans 15:4). We know that whatever God did in the life of Adam, He can do the same today because He changes not.
Malachi 3:6-7 KJV – For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed. [7] Even from the days of your fathers ye are gone away from mine ordinances, and have not kept them. Return unto me, and I will return unto you, saith the LORD of hosts. But ye said, Wherein shall we return?
Hebrews 13:5-9 KJV – Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. [6] So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear What man shall do unto me.
[7] Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation. [8] Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
[9] Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein.
Knowing God starts by studying His dealings with other faithfuls. We cannot speak in a vacuum about what we think God is; we must find Him in the scriptures. We want to know what the Bible says about God because it is good that the heart be established with grace.
Romans 15:4 KJV – For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
Keynotes – The God of Adam
- The God of Adam wants that His children to partake of His divine nature. That is why He created Adam in His image and likeness. God wants you to partake in His divine nature, and He has made every provision in Christ for you to enjoy that privilege.
- The God of Adam wants His children to create wealth through blessed labour. Though the God of Adam is a great provider, He wants His children to create wealth through legitimate work. Although He provided Adam with a garden and four streams of income, He still expected Adam to expand and prosper through gardening.
- The God of Adam shall never forsake nor leave His own. He may hide His face for a while but will never forsake His own. No matter what anybody has done or is going through; just Remember God has not forsaken you. He is working on you.
- The God of Adam is able to restore whatever the enemy takes away from you. If the enemy takes your Abel, the God of Adam is able to give a Seth.
- The God of Adam honours those who hold Him to His word. The best way to relate to the God of Adam is to trust His word as absolute. Never doubt the God of Adam.
- The God of Adam heals and empowers those who fellowship with Him. He calls us His own and wants to fellowship with us. God of Adam will always show up and leave blessings behind. In His presence, there is the fullness of joy.
- The God of Adam honours those who covenant with Him by sacrifice. (See Psalm 50:5). He required a sacrifice of Cain and Abel. He wants you to offer the sacrifice by faith.
Stay blessed
