[1 Samuel 16:18 KJV] “Then answered one of the servants, and said, Behold, I have seen a son of Jesse the Beth–lehemite, that is cunning in playing, and a mighty valiant man, and a man of war, and prudent in matters, and a comely person, and the Lord is with him”.
We know that giants are things that mocks and troll your confession. There are times when the church begin to grow smaller and empty while you confess church growth. There are times when you are mocked by infirmities even as you are speaking of divine health. There are times when your life is just a paradox, when what you confess to believe is contrary to what is really happening in your life. I believe that in no time, the Lord shall bring the change you seek. Every giant that has been mocking you shall fall for your sake. I see God striking down anything that mocks your faith and testimony and confession.
You will rise as a giant killer; you will not be scared or terrified of them anymore. I pray that you will be able to stand up against giants.
What then, is the nature of a giant-killers? Giant-killers are indeed;
1. Sons of their father:
David was a son of his father and it was clear to everyone who his father was. You must have a mentor and father, if you are to be a giant-killer. There is no artist, musician, or athelete who can make it to the top without a manager, or mentor, or father who has authority.
2. Cunning with skill:
Skill is the wisdom and ability to do things that require some expertise. To be cunning with skill is to know how to apply your know-how to unconventional situations or challenges. There many skilled people who are not smart enough to apply their skills in unconventional situations. David was a giant-killer who could apply his skill and knowledge in many unconventional situations.
3. Mighty valiant men:
A valiant man is one who possesses or shows courage or determination. To be a valiant man is to be brave, fearless, and courageous. David was a mighty heroic fighter. He had a lion-heart. David was not only mighty but will not give up easily or be discouraged. Giant-killers are people whose spirits cannot easily be broken.
4. Men of war:
In colloquial English, a man of war refers to any type of heavily armed warrior from the 16th to the 19th centuries. Therefore giant-killers are heavily armed warring men. Many soldiers are men in uniform, many of them have never fought any battles, but men of war are actually active combatant soldiers. They are men who can stand in battle. David had not been to any war before, yet he was a warring man, he fought the bear and fought the lion. He was so cunning that he knew how to fight a bear, a lion and a giant; all of these beasts required different tactics to defeat. David was trained to war and was active in battle.
5. Prudent in matters:
If you show good and careful judgment when handling practical matters, you can be described as prudent. Similarly, a wise and well-thought-through decision or action can be called prudent. The word comes from a contracted form of the Latin, prōvidēns from which the verb, “to foresee” is derived. Giant-killers are not spontaneous with their actions and decisions. They act on things they have really thought through. David was a prudent man. As usual, he did not just go out and face Goliath, he carefully considered the situation, and then acted.
6. Comely persons:
A giant-killer may not necessarily be a fearful looking person. The attitude that kills giants is not in a haughty looks, but in a lion-heart.
7. Anointed:
The Lord was always with David. The Lord is there with giant-killers. You are a giant-killer in the making. The Lord is with you and shall be with you.
I believe with all my heart that the Lord will raise you as a giant killer. You will never be defeated. You will fight and win, and many shall live because you stood and fought. Giant-killers are raised and nurtured. You cannot be wasting your life sleeping around and drinking, and then wake up one day as a giant-killer; unless off course the giant you want to kill is a beer bottle or big butts. Giant-killers are made in the oven of war and battle. Be blessed.
