Isaiah 58:10-12 KJV — “and if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noon day: [11] and the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not. [12] And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.”
God bless you for faithfully partaking in this 21 days fasting and prayer; but I want to exhort that we engage in intermittent fasting and prayers in coming days. I believe we would achieve greater result spending 20 mins in the gym every other day, than 6 hours in 3months.
What do I mean by intermittent fasting? It is abstaining from food and entertainment from time to time to grow closer to God and to see breakthrough in critical times and seasons of life. This kind of living have great benefits
- Helps you to maintain a godly focus and consciousness. When you fast and pray your attention and focus is turned to God and godliness. You are able to purge your self of worldliness and carnality. The more frequent and intermittent you do that the more spiritual you end up.
- Intermittent fasting help you hear from God and find direction in life. In Acts 13, when the apostles and teachers gathered to pray, they heard the voice of God. The Holy Spirit spoke to them.
- Intermittent fasting will keep you refreshed and rejuvenated. Isaiah 58 assure that those who fast as appointed by the Lord will be like a watered garden.
- Intermittent fasting will enhance your prayers: when you fast, your prayer becomes more effect. You recieve answers more swiftly.
- Intermittent fasting will enhance and promote your influence and impact. The scriptures assure us that when we fast, our light shall rise from obscurity and our darkness shall be as the sun at noon. There will be no more dark days!
- Intermittent fasting will bless the people around you to build. The prophets assures that they that shall be of thee, shall align with us shall be the builders of old waste places.
