The mission of the church is not just filling our church buildings with souls, but to fill the souls with God!
[Galatians 4:19 KJV] “My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you,”
We are not just interested in filling the church with souls but also to fill the souls with God. We should neither over-emphasize numbers over godliness, nor should godliness be chosen over numbers.
There should be a good balance. While we work hard to fill the church with people, the more we should strive to fill the people with God. The more people are filled with God, the more useful they become for the work of ministry and missions. So, the secret to having more of God in you are as follows;
1. Have someone interceding for you:
I am doing my best. I am interceding and travailing for you in birth till Christ be formed in you. This is the first key to Christ being formed in you. Someone should be interceding for you. Intercession is very important. You need someone to be standing in the gap for you. You need a pastor; you are blessed if you have a pastor interceding for you. I travail for you day and night as a woman in labour. I am standing in the gap for you. I represent you before God day and night.
[Galatians 4:12-20 KJV] “Brethren, I beseech you, be as I am ; for I am as ye are : ye have not injured me at all. [13] Ye know how through infirmity of the flesh I preached the gospel unto you at the first. [14] And my temptation which was in my flesh ye despised not, nor rejected; but received me as an angel of God, even as Christ Jesus. [15] Where is then the blessedness ye spake of? for I bear you record, that, if it had been possible, ye would have plucked out your own eyes, and have given them to me. [16] Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth? [17] They zealously affect you, but not well; yea, they would exclude you, that ye might affect them. [18] But it is good to be zealously affected always in a good thing , and not only when I am present with you. [19] My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you, [20] I desire to be present with you now, and to change my voice; for I stand in doubt of you”.
2. Desire to be as I am, because I am like you; and check who is influencing you:
You can be like me, because I am like you. I am not super-human, I am just like you. Check what and who is affecting and influencing you. You should not allow people others to affect you negatively. It is good to be inspired but any interaction that does not inspire in the things I have taught you; in the foundations I have laid is of the devil.
3. Continue steadfastly in Prayer, reading, doctrine and fellowshipping:
These are the master keys to more of Christ. You will be filled with more of God when you continue in these things.
May Christ be formed in you. May He increase in you. May He fill us to fullness. Be filled and may you be full. Be blessed. The truth is you must be filled with God. That is the purpose of the church mission.
