Living in a fluid world can be very challenging. There is so much to run after but the greatest wisdom is to till your own land.
[Proverbs 12:11 KJV] “He that tilleth his land shall be satisfied with bread: but he that followeth vain persons is void of understanding”.
The Bible says he that focuses on his purpose shall have plenty of bread, but he that follows people who have nothing to do with their purpose is void of understanding. Every one of us must, therefore, focus on pursuing our own dreams and purposes.
Isaiah 5, however, teaches the great secrets to till or cultivate your own purpose for much bread.
- Sow in a fruitful hill
- Fence the field
- Gather out the stones
- Sow choice seeds
- Build a tower, keep watch
- Build a winepress
You must learn that before you give your life to anything, it’s foundation must be on a fruitful premise. If you plant a church in a ghost town, the church will become a ghost church. Your field must be fruitful before you can produce fruits. Give yourself wholly to a viable venture or business and not to a sham. You must sow in a fruitful hill.
The second step to tilling your own land is to fence it. You must protect your business and endeavours. You must have checks and balances. You must put in place the proper control measures to safeguard your investments. I believe that protecting your dream and investment is important.
Then gather out the stones. Break the fallow ground; gather out the hard parts. Stones will make the dream wither in a bad season. When the sower went out to sow, the seeds which fell on stony grounds withered. You will be fruitful when you break up your fallow grounds. Deal with toxic employees. One toxic employee can destroy the fortunes of a 1000 good ones. Deal with those who are hardened against you.
Plant choice seeds; don’t compromise on quality. You must uphold high standards! You must not compromise on ethics. The Lord planted the choicest seeds in the field. Please, learn to sow quality. We must be diligent about what we put into the products or services we offer.
You will have much bread, when you maintain oversight over your ventures. He built a watch tower in the field and took oversight. This means there were proper administrative structures in the field of endeavour to facilitate productivity.
Finally, he built a winepress. He built a processing plant. He did not want to just produce raw material, he processed his gains for sale and for profit. We must learn to work on the grapes.
Remember, that all these did not yield good grapes or good wine. It takes a supernatural hand to give you good grapes. May the Lord help you and may He take you far in your endeavours and ventures.
I love you!
