[Acts 1:6-8 KJV] “When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth”.
Though it is time to step out and possess the cities, it is impossible to invade and possess cities by prophecy except we have a deeper spiritual experience. Every major breakthrough in the early church began with a time of waiting.
The early church and apostles invaded and took over the cities because they had the fusion of the supernatural. The supernatural took over the natural and they were transformed.
Whether in commerce and business, religion, governance, arts and entertainment, media and technology, education, or family and health; we can step out and possess if we receive a deeper spiritual experience. The outpouring and infilling of the Holy Spirit, the holy fire, and presence of God is all that we need.
In the very words of our Lord Jesus Christ, he says “we can not take over and possess cities by prophecy except we tarry and wait for the fusion of the supernatural.” You shall receive power after the Holy Ghost comes upon you. We need the enduement with power from on high. We must wait to be endued with power from on high. By the arm of flesh shall no man prevail. We need the supernatural. We need to receive power and flow in the supernatural.
The early church knew this truth. They knew that without a supernatural encounter, we can never possess the cities. The early church always spent time in prayer and fasting and waiting and ministering to the Lord. They waited and prayed when they were afraid and they waited and prayed when all was well. They just waited and ministered to the Lord.
“And being let go, they went to their own company, and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said unto them. And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is:
And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness. And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common”. [Acts 4:23-24, 31-32 KJV]
When fear gripped their hearts they prayed, they waited; can we pray? Can we wait? Can we pray and wait for the Lord? Can we pray with a lifted voice? This is the time to invade and possess the city by prophecy but it will take a deeper spiritual experience. Every major breakthrough of the church began with a time of waiting. As they had fasted and prayed, the Holy Ghost spoke to them.
“Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them. And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away”. [Acts 13:1-3 KJV]
I believe as we wait and pray, a change is coming, an awakening and enduement is coming. We can if we pray. Prayer works and prayer is the key to the deeper spiritual experience.
