[2 Corinthians 10:3-6 KJV] “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (for the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; and having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.“
If only you are a believer then you must understand that though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh. We must understand that whatever we are fighting is higher than the realms of flesh. We are walking in life but some things, certain things are fighting you. You are pushing against certain things that are beyond the flesh. This is the time to understand.
You must also understand that the different things that are fighting you must be dealt with using the appropriate weapons which are mighty through God. Not every problem is spiritual in nature, obviously many things are above the flesh. Examples of things that are beyond the flesh are:
- Strongholds
- Imaginations and high things that exalt themselves against the word of God
- Thoughts
- Disobedience
- Adversaries
- Devils (See Mark 16:15-20)
- Things that have lingered for too long (chronic conditions) (See Mathew 17:21)
Some things are strongholds and the only way to handle them is to pull them down. You cannot wrestle strongholds, you must pull them down.
Sometimes, the things fighting you are just in your imagination and things you have overrated and elevated against the word of God. Sometimes, you are unable to allow the word of God to work in your life because of things you have elevated. This is the time to cast down imaginations and high things that exalt themselves against the knowledge of God.
You will lose the battle if you judge after the outward appearance. Your logic will not always add up! There is more to life than meets the eye. This is one of the first things you must understand and assimilate. Though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh.
The second truth to receive is the fact that whatever is fighting you, is targeting to keep you from being saved, becoming fruitful, and serving for kingdom advancement. The devil and all the forces of darkness always targeting your salvation, your fruitfulness, and your ministry; that is why you must strive to;
- Work out your salvation with fear and trembling
- Learn how to live a quiet life, do your own business, and work with your hand
- Addict yourself to ministry, help the lead pastor, and labour for kingdom advancement
The weapons of our warfare are not carnal but it’s mighty when engaged through God. We are, therefore, going to engage these weapons to tame the powers of darkness. We shall;
- Seek the compassion of the Lord in the morning (See Lamentations 3:22-24)
- Break the arrows and stop the waster that wastes at noon
- Subdue the terror pestilence that travels at night (See Psalm 91)
Stay blessed
