[Acts 1:11 KJV] “Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven”.
Introduction
I want to exhort you on the fact that Jesus Christ is coming again, and I want to share three things you need to know about the second coming of Jesus Christ.
1. The second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ is as sure as death:
The Bible teaches us in Hebrews 9:27 that as we all know that it is appointed unto man once to die and after death, judgment; Jesus Christ will also come again. That is to say that, if you cannot refute the reality of death, then you must not deny the fact that Jesus Christ will come again. The coming of the Lord Jesus Christ is as sure as death. If you have ever been to a funeral or if you ever go to a funeral then remember that you have every reason to believe that Jesus Christ will come again.
2. Two things will happen at His appearing:
2 Thessalonians 2:1-2 reveals that two things will happen at His appearing: He will descend with a shout of an archangel and we shall be caught up to meet Him in the air, and we shall be with Him forever. Glory to God!
Those who have believed and remain in Him shall be caught up together to be with Him. We shall be united together with Him. Behold! He is coming again! He is coming for a church without blemish. He is coming for the glorious church. Jesus is coming again and all eyes shall see Him.
3. The coming of the Lord Jesus shall not happen until first of all the gospel is preached in all nations and there is a falling away;
2 Thessalonians 2:3 and Matthew 24:14 teach this so clearly and so truthfully. The gospel must be preached in all nations then the end shall come. Jesus is coming again but we don’t know exactly when. His day shall come as a thief in the night, but will be after we have preached the gospel in all nations and there is a massive falling away.
Conclusion
The day of the Lord shall come as a thief in the night; He is not slack concerning His promises as some count slackness. He is coming and coming quickly. This is the time to wake up and get ready. He is coming for a church that is ready; let us get ready now!
