Today, I want to share with you why many people are not excelling.
[2 Peter 1:1-5 KJV] “Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ: Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust”
The Bible teaches us that the divine power of God has given us all things that pertain to life and godliness through the knowledge of Him that call us to glory and virtue. We have everything by which we should succeed. But many of us are not succeeding because we are ignoring important rules of engagement. Many are not excelling because of;
- Their frivolous attitude towards the word of God
- The lack of diligence to add other important ingredients to their faith
- The inability to rule their emotions and spirits
- Who they are associating with
- Offences and roots of bitterness
- Unresolved bloodline issues
The devil is not going to fold his hands and watch you excel just because God gave you promises. The devil is ready to fight and keep you from reaching God’s purpose for your life. The devil will fight you; he will fight you with your emotions, offences, associations, and bloodline issues.
Take the word seriously:
Every miracle begins with the word. Galatians 3:5 teaches clearly that God works miracles and ministers the Spirit by the hearing of faith. Every miracle begins with the speaking and hearing of faith. It is impossible to spend 5 minutes daily in the word and not be changed.
The word of God transforms, and just spending time in the word will make you wise (See 2 Timothy 3:15-16). It will make your prosper and succeed (See Joshua 1:7-9). It will make you fruitful (See Psalm 1:1-3), and it will heal and make you healthy (See Proverbs 4:22).
The lack of diligence to add other important ingredients to their faith:
[2 Peter 1:5-8 KJVA] “And beside this, giving all diligence, add to you faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
The truth is, we may have been given all the things that pertain to life and godliness, and exceeding great and precious promises; but until we give diligence to add the other ingredient, we may remain fruitless. We must be ready to add virtue to virtue to get results.
The inability to rule your emotions and spirit:
The Bible teaches us that a man that does not rule his spirit is like a city with broken-down walls. Un-ruled emotions and uncontrolled anger has wrecked many lives. Your ability to rule your spirit is a master key to excel.
[Proverbs 25:28 KJV] “He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls”
Who they associate with:
[1 Corinthians 15:33 KJV] “Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners”.
Your association can make or unmake you. Ammon raped Tamar because of his association, Absalom slept with his father’s wives and concubines because of his association with Ahitophel. Your association can delay your miracle. The miracle of Abraham was delayed because of his association with Lot. The Lord requires that we separate ourselves from the world.
[2 Corinthians 6:16-18 KJV] “And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.”
Offences and roots of bitterness.
[Hebrews 12:15 KJV] “Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;”
Many more lives have been destroyed because of offences and bitterness. Let us learn to forgive and love if we want to excel. This is very important!
Unresolved bloodline issues.
Finally, many are not excelling because of unresolved bloodline issues. Sometimes, what is plaguing you is in the bloodline, pay attention!
Be blessed, I love you
