We are all born to be free. We want to be free but sometimes what we call freedom is bondage to our own lust and craving for indulgence and unruliness. Any freedom that has no restrictions or submission is in itself either a bondage or sickness. Freedom, like growth, must be in concert and resonance with other important connection.

[John 8:36 KJV] “If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed”.

The Scriptures, however, assures us that the Son of God wants to set us free and He shall set us free, then we shall be free indeed. We were bought at a price to be free. We understand by the Scriptures that we were captives to sin and to death and devils before we were bought. We were all up for auction on the slave market, but God bought us at a price to be His free agents. We were bought to be free and to re-present Christ to our community and to those in our circles. We were bought at a price to be free enough to tell of the goodness and kindness of God.
I know there are people who don’t want you to be free but you were bought to be free. There are many people who benefit from your incarnation, and hence, do not want you to be free.
For instance, a lion or a monkey was created to live in the wild and not in a cage. So anytime you visit the Zoo to see a lion, or a monkeys in a cage, you see it as entertainment but to them it is bondage. It is pathetic to be excited over the people who have fun from your bondage. There are men who benefit from your sex addiction, they wish you were never liberated. There are women who benefit from your validation addiction. They are happy because your addiction helps them to put you in a cage.
My message to you today is that you were bought to be free, don’t settle for the cage just because you eat everyday without hunting. What you are eating may be leftovers, it is time to trust God to liberate you. You must come out of the cage, the addiction, the bondage and the prison. I decree that no man can hold you bound anymore from today in the name of Jesus. You will be liberated and you will walk in the freedom of God. Those who put you in the cage want you to remain there because they earn a living from your captivity.
1. Don’t be slaves to any man:
Keep serving, if you were servant before being bought, but serve men as doing it for God and country. Be no man’s slave, be God’s free man.
2. Don’t be brought under the power of anything:
Habits are formed over time without effort. Anything you do long enough will eventually become a habit that will try to keep you in subjection to your passions and lust, and to serve its will. We must all admit that we were bought at a price and determine not to be brought under the power of anything.
I pray that you will supernaturally be liberated from every bondage. When you are brought under the power of something, you cannot rise above the standard it sets for you. When you are addicted to alcohol, you will go as far as alcohol allows you to. I know of a young man who could not complete his A-level in those days because he could not endure hunger. He choose to rather stay home and eat good food than go to the boarding house.
Anything you are subject to will set your limits. That is why you must be careful who you marry. They set the limits and boundaries. This is the time to break free from controlling substances.
3. Don’t fear any man, trust God and believe in Him
The Scriptures tell us in Proverbs 29:25 that the fear of a man brings a snare. To hold other peoples opinion in awe will ensnare you. Don’t be bound by other people’s opinion as long as you are trusting God.
A few weeks ago, I read that those who accuse you do so to be able to control you. You are going to remove all titles and opinions put on you. You can make it when you trust God. The fear of a man brings a snare, but those who trust God are safe. May you believe and have faith! May you have faith to overcome the world!
4. Don’t be ignorant, read, think, stay inspired:
What you don’t know will keep you in bondage. John 8:30-32 teaches that when you continue in God’s word, you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free. The truth is what liberates, ignorance leads to captivity and destruction. Instead of allowing your pain to drown you, study, read and feed your mind and spirit. Reading liberates and empowers. In 1Timothy 4:15, we are encouraged to give attendance to reading, doctrine and exhortation. That is how a man of God is prepared and refurbished for what is next.
5. Don’t let anyone manipulate you with religion:
Don’t let anybody manipulate you with a religion of greed and pretence . The new religion in town is called wealth creation and millionaire craze. Their god is money and the spirit is greed. Their culture is coveteousness. Don’t be manipulated by any form of religion. There is one God, the father of our Lord Jesus Christ who loved us so much and sent His son to gave His life as a ransom to save us from bondage. He has saved us to give us abundant life in liberty. He has set us free from the law to walk in grace and good works. The doctrine of Christ is liberty, freedom, abd delivered from every captivity.
Indeed, whosoever the Son shall set free shall be free indeed.
