What many people dont know is the fact that the mind is a tool that helps in the creation of what you are and what you can become. There are four scriptures on the mind which I want you to meditate on today.
1. You are what you think in your heart
“For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; But his heart is not with thee.” (Proverbs 23:7 KJV)
Remember, people don’t just become things; whatever anybody becomes, they have been thinking about it. What are you thinking in your heart? Are they pure thoughts? Would you be glad when you eventually become what you are thinking?
2. You are transformed by the renewing of your mind. If you don’t like what you are; change how your think!
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God”.
(Romans 12:1-2 KJV)
Each one of us is transformed in the dimension we renew our minds. Nothing changes until you renew you mind. Listening to 1000 hours of teaching and preaching will not change you, until you allow what you are hearing to renew how you think. May the spirit of this message transform how you are thinking in the mighty name of Jesus!
3. What you stay your mind on determines the extent and quality of peace you enjoy
“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee”. (Isaiah 26:3 KJV)
May God keep you in perfect peace as you stay your mind on Him. May you never be frightened by the events and happenings around you. May you know the peace of God as you stay your mind on Him!
That is why the Bible says we should think of things that are true and lovely!
“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you”. (Philippians 4:8-9 KJV)
No matter what goes on around you, try to train your mind to see the good and the beauty in it.
4. Think positive thoughts; God can do far above what you can ever ask or think! God is able!
“Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.” (Ephesians 3:20-21 KJV)
Focus your thoughts on the positive things. God can do much more than what you are thinking.
Whatever you think about for a long time, you will do it. If you keep thinking about sin and lustful thoughts, you will eventually carry it out. Your thoughts are very important!
Stay blessed!
