The will of God is for all men to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. There is too much suffering and pain in the world; but the only answer to the suffering and pain in the world is Jesus Christ, the son of the living God.
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time. Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity (1 Timothy 2:5-7 KJV)
We know according to the scriptures that God upon seeing the suffering we brought upon ourselves through sin, was moved by love to give his only begotten son as a ransom for all. The son of the living God, Jesus Christ gave himself a ransom for all to be testified, preached and proclaimed in due season (Luke 24:44-53).
The sacrifice of Christ must be proclaimed, preached and testified in due season because it is the only way to release the power that can save the world (Romans 1:16; 1 Corinthians 1:18-23). The gospel, the preaching of the gospel is the medium of releasing the power of salvation.
If we can fulfil this eternal purpose as a church, then as your apostle, I am responsible to raise you to take the following seven things very seriously;
-
Your ministry of outreach and care:
Mark 16:14-20 reveals very clearly that as we go into the world around us and preach the gospel, power, signs, wonders, working of miracles, and ministering of the Spirit shall follow those that believe.
It’s important to remember that people cannot believe except they hear the word of God preached in its simplicity but with authority.
James 1:18-23 teaches us to visit the widows and orphans in their afflictions. This is our calling; this is the first step to fulfilling our eternal purpose. So we must take our ministry of outreach and care very seriously if we truly want to fulfil our divine mandate.
-
Our gathering and fellowship:
This is the second thing we must take seriously. Hebrews 10:25 exhorts that if we do not want to backslide, then we must take our gathering together and fellowship seriously.
We know there is strength in numbers; one will chase a thousand, and two will put ten thousand to flight (Deuteronomy 32:30 KJV ).
Two are obviously better than one, they have a better results for their labour (Ecclesiastes 4:9 KJV).
We know that where two or three are gathered in the name of God He is there in their midst. As we gather, His Spirit dwells within us. As we gather, we glorify His name. We know very well that as our hearts begins to worship; we will be blessed because God will show up.
-
Prayer:
We need to pray without ceasing because God is sovereign and works in His own time. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 and Luke 18:1-7 teaches us on the need to pray without ceasing. We must continually stand in prayer and press on to win in the pursuit of God’s eternal purpose for humanity
-
Singing and music:
There is no better way to teach and exhort than through singing. Colossians 3:16 teaches that we must speak to ourselves in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs.
-
Teaching and learning:
Romans 10:17 reveals that what we believe is shaped by what we listen to. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Faith in that same way can crash by hearing and hearing negatively.
We would go far if all of us will be careful about what we listen to. Guard your hearts with all diligence; your strength is in what you feed on.
-
Serving and Giving:
Luke 8:1-4 teaches that we can fulfill our eternal mandate when we are released to follow and serve. When Jesus Christ went round preaching, certain women and men followed to both serve and give. Your serving and giving is the secret to increase and greatness.
-
Lifestyle:
Remember, you are our epistles being read by all men. Many may never hear me preaching but they will see you in the hood.
Do we begin again to commend ourselves? or need we, as some others, epistles of commendation to you, or letters of commendation from you? Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men: Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart (2 Corinthians 3:1–3 KJV)
I exhort you to stay awake and walk worthy of the calling. There is no greater testimony than a changed life.
I love you, God bless you.
