Today, I want to share with you the secret to a healthier and prosperous life. In the text above, the Apostle John expressed his sincere prayer for Gaius, his son in the Lord who was walking in the truth, but that does not necessarily guarantee health and prosperity.
We are saved by grace and not by works, but like a newborn child, we must be raised to become adults who can fully manifest our potential. Someone must raise us; we must be raised. We must be protected and taught and nurtured.
If you want to live a long, good, and great life, be careful how you use food, sex, and words. Almost all great monarchs that collapsed, did so because of food, sex or words. These are the three things that destroy kings. You can read it for yourself. There are certain things that destroy kings; we are admonished to stay away from such things. We are bought with a price to be kings and priest unto God. Don’t give your ways to things that destroy kings.
“The words of king Lemuel, the prophecy that his mother taught him. What, my son? and what, the son of my womb? and what, the son of my vows? Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings. It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink:” (Proverbs 31:1-4 KJV)
Anybody who is serious about living a healthier and prosperous life must be careful how they use food, sex, and words.
One of the major signs of backsliding is eating and drink; indulgent eating and drinking. The Bible tells us that in the last days many servants shall backslide and indulge in food and drinking. That is how many stewards shall end up where unbelievers will go.
“But and if that servant say in his heart, My Lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken; The Lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.” (Luke 12:45-46 KJV)
We know that unbelievers will go to hell and perish in the Lake of Fire, and those who rather spend their money on food and drinking than on missions and ministry will join them there.
The second thing you must be careful about if you really want to go far is how you use sex.
“Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” (1 Corinthians 6:18-20 KJV)
Those who abuse and sell sex cannot glorify God in their body. The price of sex is high. Indeed all things are lawful but all things are not expedient. We were bought with a price and we do not own ourselves. When you abuse sex, the glory of God around you depletes. Illicit sex depletes your glory and you lose the glory.
Finally, how you use words determine how healthy and prosperous you will live. Your words are creative. Be careful how you use your words.
“For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile: Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it. For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil. And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good?” (1 Peter 3:10-13 KJV)
Beloved in a multitude of words, there is sin. Your words are creative, beware.
The secret to a healthier and prosperous life is temperance, expediency, and equity. Do not induldge and be given to gluttony, sex abuse, and chattering. I know you can and will do this.
