I want to exhort you on praying in the Holy Ghost. It is your Christian weapon. It is a weapon that makes each of us effective in spiritual warfare.
[Acts 2:1-4 KJV] “And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance”.
The Bible teaches us that in response to the counsel of Our Lord Jesus Christ, after the ascension, the disciples gathered in the upper room in Jerusalem to wait for the Holy Ghost. The Bible teaches that when the day of Pentecost was fully come, the Holy Ghost came in like a mighty rushing wind, and cloven tongues of fire settled on each of them. The narrator intimates that each of the people gathered in the upper room spoke in an unknown tongue as the Spirit gave them utterance.
This unknown tongue is given for prayer and for prophesying. The churches are given this unique language to make us effective. The unfortunate truth, however, is that many of us in the church today are not even baptised in the Holy Ghost, let alone to speak in the heavenly language. I believe with all my heart that we should begin to exhort each other to speak more in the Holy Ghost. Speaking by the Spirit, either in prayer or by prophecy, is one of the key things that will make us effective and make us win the battle.
I believe with all my heart that the simple secret to health, wealth, and worth is to;
- Rest enough
- Eat healthily
- Work diligently
- Exercise a little
- Pray and speak more in tongues
Speaking in tongues is the believer’s weapon. Speaking in tongues for about 30 minutes every day will bring great strength and blessings.
The Bible tells us that praying and speaking in tongues has the following benefits;
1. Praying in the Spirit brings edification;
He that prays in the Spirit edifies himself. Above that, he that prophecies edifies the church. The blessings are enormous. We should strive to speak more in tongues.
2. Praying in tongues helps you to pray for long hours:
The Bible admonishes us to pray without ceasing. The Lord Jesus had the habit of praying for long hours.
[Matthew 14:23 KJV] “And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone”.
[Luke 6:12 KJV] “And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God”.
[Mark 1:35 KJV] “And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed”.
He was surprised that His disciples could not wait in prayer with Him for even an hour. Praying in tongues affords you the ability to spend hours upon hours in pray. When you pray in the Spirit you can go on for as long as you want to because the Spirit gives you that ability and takes away your limitation of running out of words.
3. Praying in tongues give you victory over devils:
Ephesians 6:10-18, teaches that praying with all prayers and supplications in the spirit is a weapon against demons. When we pray all prayers and supplications in the spirit, we will win over the devil‘s projections against us. I want to lead the crusade to exhort the Christian community to pray more in the Holy Ghost, more especially to prophesy or speak by inspiration. Our words are weapons against the realm of darkness and evil.
4. Praying in tongues helps you to speak mysteries to God:
1 Corinthians 14 teaches that “He that prays in the spirit, speaks mysteries; not unto men but unto God.” I believe that we should all aspire to speak in tongues and to pray in tongues. It is our weapon and we should not take it for granted. No one may understand us but we speak mysteries to God.
5. Speaking in tongues enables us to pray with a higher diction above what words can utter:
Romans 8:26 reveals that when we pray in the spirit, the Holy Spirit helps our infirmity. It is both our weapon against weakness and limitation. The Holy Ghost prays with groaning and dictions that cannot be uttered with words. Pray that the Holy Spirit will help your infirmity and pray with groaning that can not be uttered with words.
Praying in the Holy Ghost widens your scope and dimensions of prayer. Praying in the Holy Ghost increases your reach and scope. Those who pray in the Holy Ghost touch on more things, even hidden things, than those who pray with the understanding. I exhort that the church return to that place of praying more in the Holy Ghost in our personal, devotional and intercessory prayers. That is how we can reach greater dimensions of prayer.
Praying in the spirit increases your prayer power and makes you more effective. Those who pray in the Holy Ghost can achieve more spiritually.
Be blessed, I love you!
