[Luke 17:11-19 KJV] “And it came to pass, as he went to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee. And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off: and they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.”
“And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed. And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, and fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.“
“And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine? There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger. And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.“
I want to share with you on the mystery of thanksgiving. In fact, thanksgiving is one of the three things we must do without ceasing; the other two are rejoicing, and praying.
“Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you“. (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 KJV)
Thanksgiving is a profuse expression of gratitude!
Thanksgiving is the profuse expression of gratitude to someone or a deity for their goodwill or benevolence towards you.Simpe Bediako
Every great thanksgiving must have four elements; it is offered with all these four elements; betterstill, these four things make thanksgiving complete:
- The prayer of thanksgiving: To come with words and prayer to thank God.
- The worship, gestures, and heart attitude of thanksgiving: The Samaritan returned and with a loud voice glorified God and fell at His feet and thanked Him.
- The testimony of thanksgiving: Declaring the wondrous works of God. Telling of what He has done to the nations.
- The sacrifice or offering of thanksgiving: It is right to redeem your vows at thanksgiving and to bring an offering.
Thanksgiving must be a lifestyle; may your lives overflow with gratitude and ceaseless praise and appreciation.
Stay blessed!
