“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.” — Ephesians 6:10–11 (NKJV)
Exhortation:
Life confronts us daily with battles we did not choose – pressures, temptations, fears, discouragements, and unseen spiritual opposition. Scripture reminds us that these struggles are not merely physical or human; they are spiritual in nature. That is why our strength cannot come from intellect, experience, money, or human connections. True victory comes only from the Lord.
To be strong in the Lord means to draw our confidence, endurance, and courage from Him. It is an active dependence – putting on the whole armor of God: truth to guard our minds, righteousness to protect our hearts, the gospel to steady our steps, faith to quench every fiery dart, salvation to secure our identity, and the Word of God as our weapon. Above all, prayer keeps us connected to our Commander.
God does not call us to fight in our own might; He calls us to stand in His. When we rely on His power, we are not shaken by the storms of life. No matter the opposition, the believer who stands in the Lord’s strength will not be defeated.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I acknowledge that my strength is insufficient, but Yours is perfect. Help me to rely fully on You and to put on Your whole armor daily. Strengthen me by Your Spirit to stand firm in faith, courage, and obedience. I choose to trust in the power of Your might. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
