I have been exhorting you lately on generating supernatural results. I have touched on four things you can engage to generate supernatural results; being mindful of your exposure, heart, persuasion, asking, and today we want to discuss your actions or works.
[James 2:17-26 KJV] “Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. [18] Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. [19] Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. [20] But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?”
[21] “Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? [22] Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? [23] And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. [24] Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.”
[25] “Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way? [26] For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.”
It is important for us to understand that although faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God; faith needs something more than hearing to produce results. The truth is, faith that will work must have works with it. The Bible teaches this so clearly. Indeed faith without works is dead; your faith must, therefore, have three types of works;
- Profession
- Pursuit
- Patience
The works that must accompany faith are: what you say, what you do, and when you do it.
Hebrews 11:7-8 KJV] “By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith. [8] By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.”
When you hear the word of faith, you must catch the spirit of faith which gives rise to speaking. When you hear the word you must keep saying it. You must hold fast to your confession and profession of faith. Don’t change your profession, no matter what! Once you receive the word, keep saying it! Keep speaking it! Keep writing it! Keep casting the vision and publishing it! Make it plain upon tables that those who read may run with it.
You must add appropriate works, for instance, if you are believing God for the fruit of the womb, then you must keep doing what produces babies the right way. Even Abraham the friend of God had to get down to work. He embraced a son because he added works to his faith. Confession alone is not enough; requisite works must be added.
If you are believing God to represent your constituency at Parliament, then go and pick your forms and start campaigning. Engage with the wisdom of elections and run. Faith must have works to work.
Finally, faith works through waiting. To wait is part of the works that must be added to your faith. You must have enough patience to wait until you experience the hand of God moving things to your favour.
I love you!
