Money is the medium of exchange for goods and services in contemporary times.

In this message, we want to examine 5 things every believer must understand about money;

1. Money answers all things under heaven:

According to the Scriptures money is one of the most important and useful things under heaven. Many of the things that are required to be done under heaven can be done with money. Inasmuch as it is true that there are many things money cannot do, there are also so many other things money can do.

[Ecclesiastes 10:19 KJV] “A feast is made for laughter, and wine maketh merry: but money answereth all things.”

2. Money is a master, but honour God:

Indeed the Bible compares money to God in the context of commanding respect and demanding service. No man can serve money and still honour God. In any case, when we serve God, He adds money to us. I will admonish you to serve and honour God, He will add money to you. If you serve money, you will perish because money cannot save you. Those who serve and honour God, receive money in addition.

[Luke 16:13 KJV] “No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.”

3. Money is uncertain or unreliable:

The third counsel, the Scriptures give us about money is the fact that when wealth increases, we should not rely on it. The Scriptures teach that money makes itself wings and fly away. Put your trust and your hope in God and eternal things.

[Proverbs 23:5] KJV “Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? for riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward heaven.”

4. The love of money is the root of all evil:

I think this is the most popular quote from the Bible about money. Indeed, nothing is more true than this. I pray that you focus your love on God and on your neighbours rather than on money. It is safe to love God and your neighbours rather than to love money.
