“Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.” (2 Peter 1:4-9 KJV)
“And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end: That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.” (Hebrews 6:11-12 KJV)
There is left for us many precious and eternal promises. Every one of us can walk in these promises and become partakers of the supernatural nature of God. The scriptures tell us that by possessing the promises, we become partakers of the divine nature of God. We can share in the nature of God.
There are 3 simple things that can help us to possess the promises of God so that we can partake in the supernatural nature of God;
Faith:
You can possess the promises of God if you can believe. Faith is key to possessing the promises that make you partakers of the divine nature of God.
Patience:
Most of the Bible stories you read in the scriptures span decades. Please don’t read it as if they happened over a year, because they actually span decades. Some of the stories are not even to be followed, they teach only a moral lesson. We must have patience if we want to possess the promises.
Adding virtue to virtue:
You will bear fruits on your knowledge of Christ if you learn to add virtue to virtue. You must add some more virtues to your faith.
Don’t joke about it, you must inherit the promises and move on to become partakers of the divine nature of the promises of God.
