[Psalms 127:1-2 KJV] “Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain. It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.”
Introduction
We have learned that by “strength shall no man prevail”. Indeed, we prepare horses against the day of battle but victory is of the Lord. Inasmuch as it is okay to prepare your equipment and tools against the day of battle, it is important to note that victory comes from God.
The word of God teaches us that it takes God to both build and keep watch. You can do all the calculations and scheme; but except it is given to you from above, you will not receive it. Many things will only work out if God sanctions them. Only God can sanction a thing for it to come to pass.
Except he watches over a city, the watchmen will be awake but in vain. The Lord is the force behind the motion. He drives the wheel and causes the motion.
I believe this is the time to learn to recline all of your weight and burden on Christ. I believe this is the time and season to arise and trust the Lord with all of our cares and burdens. This is the time to say that “Lord, my trust is in You”. Our trust and hope must be in the Lord. Our fortress and hope. His name is Jehovah; the covenant-keeping God.
Some trust in chariots and others in horses, but our trust must be in the Lord. We have tried so many things, but this is the time to trust God. I have given up trusting in might and strength. My trust is in God now! I choose to trust than to fret. He is my hope and fortress!
Conclusion
The Bible assures us that those who trust in the Lord shall be defended as the mountains surround Jerusalem. You will dwell in safety as you put your hope and trust in the Lord
Stay blessed
